Vendor Meeting: Sunday, April 11 @ 2pm

Crowds are lining up now in anticipation of our 2010 Chattanooga Market Season. If you are interested in becoming a new vendor this year, or if you are a returning long-term market vendor, we look forward to meeting you on Sunday, April 11 at 2pm ~~at the Finley Stadium Club (just inside the main gates)~~.

UPDATE: Due to unprecedented interest, we will not fit into the Stadium Club this year!

~~We will now be meeting in the First Tennessee Pavilion (please bring your own lawn chairs)~~

Holiday Market 12/5 & 12/6 – Chattanooga Market’s Season Finale

It’s the last opportunity to buy local for the Chattanooga Market’s 2009 season. This weekend is the big holiday finale with plenty of gift-giving ideas, Christmas music and holiday cheer. There will be plenty of hot chocolate to be had while shopping for handmade gifts; over 150 vendors with that perfect something that is unique. The Christmas music and strolling carolers will get everyone in the spirit complete with swing bands Sweet Georgia Sound and Uptown onstage Sunday. Expect to see Santa Claus both days, bring your camera.

11/29/09 Coca-Cola Collectors Show & YMCA Strong Kids Auction

This Sunday will be a sea of red & white under the First Tennessee Pavilion. It’s our annual Coca-Cola collector’s day. There will be several booths filled with Coca-Cola memorabilia available for purchase or just for your enjoyment. Feel free to join in the fun and bring in your own Coca-Cola treasure, you can get a free appraisal. Coca-Cola is one of the long-time sponsors of Chattanooga Market and this is our day to give tribute to one of Chattanooga’s classics. The day is provided to us by North River YMCA who will hold a silent auction with many popular themed baskets (great gifts for the holidays) to benefit their Strong Kids Campaign. Strong Kids is a program designed to give under-priveledged kids and families access to YMCA programs in support of a heathly lifestyle.

Gingerbread Lane at Chattanooga Market 11/22/09

Start off your holiday season at Chattanooga Market this Sunday from 11am -4pm. Several area school children have been busy making gingerbread houses – vote on your favorite! Live On Point organization in conjunction with Girls Preparatory School will be providing a bounce house, temporary tattoos and face painting for our younger audience. Gingerbread house building demo by local bakers! Tickets for these fun activities are only $1 each. Proceeds will go towards a GPS scholarship in the name of former student and Live On Point board member, Palmer Griffin, who lost her battle with leukemia in 2007.

It’s a fun, festive day complete with a visit from Santa – bring your camera! You’ll be amazed at the selection of handcrafted items that our vendors will be offering for the gift-giving season. ‘Tis the Season this Sunday, as well as the next few, before the end of our 2009 Season. The last weekend will be our 2-day Holiday Market Saturday, December 5th and Sunday, December 6th. Check back on our website for the details!

Chattanooga Market is proud to partner with Channel 9, Wal-Mart, First Tennessee Banks, The United Way, The Knights of Columbus, Southern Bullion, The Chattanooga Times Free Press and area dry cleaners and viewers in this year’s Coats For Kids cause. Folks can bring their new and used warm coats for donation at Chattanooga Market each Sunday through December 6th (also at our Holiday Market Saturday, December 5th) There will be several boxes for collecting donations each Sunday for dispersement to those in need at no charge. All sizes are needed for adults and children.

Cooking Live with Amanda Varnell at Chattanooga Market 11/15

This Sunday at 11:30 Let’s Talk Turkey with Amanda Varnell. It’s the last Cooking Live class of the 2009 season at Chattanooga Market. This class is sure to make your Thanksgiving table the talk of the town. Class includes demonstration, recipe packet, bottled water and generous samples – call it lunch! Fifth Annual Kick’n Chick’n Sunday 11/15 at Chattanooga Market

This Sunday 11/15, 11am – 4pm, Chattanooga Market guests will have a serious amount of spice added to their Sunday afternoon with the Fifth Annual Kick’n Chick’n Hot Wing Contest. Market goers will have an opportunity to sample the various styles of Chattanooga’s best wings for just $7.50 in this annual competition. Here’s the competitors, each hoping for bragging rights to the Best Wings Chattanooga 2009.

Tickets are just $7.50 which will get you a sample wing from each of the competitors. Join the fun and vote for your favorite eaterie’s wings. A judge’s panel will have their own vote as well, with an award to be presented to the winner. All proceed’s will benefit the organizer of the event, Chattanooga Endeavors, whose mission is to improve public safety by restoring former offenders to productive roles in society. On Stage 11/15- Tyler Reeve

Jeans. T-shirt. Boots. Guitar. Tyler’s appearance is indicative of his style of music. Simple, straight forward and candid.

Born in Mobile, Alabama, Tyler’s music is well rooted in Southern Americana. Growing up listening to his uncle play guitar and sing on the porch deck of a beach house, Tyler’s inspiration came at an early age. Tyler attended the Florida State University, where he became refreshingly dependent on his fan base. Paying his dues and performing in bars for eight years before recording his first album, Whiskey Down (February, 2008), he has tailored his music to the live venue.

His performances are infectiously enjoyable and fun. Tyler’s blend of Texas-style, raw country and Americana finds audiences that wait with open arms and raised glasses.

11/8 Valvoline Racing to Excellence in Education

Valvoline Racing to Excellence in Education (VREE) revs up a celebration event at Chattanooga Market on Sunday, November 8 . In partnership with the City of Chattanooga Department of Education, Arts & Culture (EAC) and its Unbroken youth initiative—VREE is a media-driven campaign highlighting safe driving at its core and using racing as a metaphor for kids getting ahead in education. Come see the City of Chattanooga Police Department Beat the Heat Drag Racing Team, a Fire Engine from the City of Chattanooga Fire Department, Tire Rack Street Survival School Race Cars, and the Meth Task Force Mobile Meth Unit. At 1:30 p.m. EAC will announce from the Chattanooga Market stage the VREE Winners Circle students who wrote winning essays in the Valvoine Racing to Excellence in Education Essay Contest.

The Chattanooga Market is very proud to be participating in the Head of the Hooch regatta this Saturday – the second largest event of its type in the nation!

Join us along the Chattanooga riverfront from 8am until 5pm on Saturday for a special Market, and enjoy the wonderful rowing event featuring nearly 8,000 competitors and 15,000 spectators in this undiscovered jewel of Chattanooga.
