On Stage 7/27 - Dave Herring
Dave Herring is a singer, songwriter and musician who writes honest songs that reflect his experiences, faith and views on life. He recently joined together with the Eastbound String Machine after working on his debut project “Look to the East.” The band has been well received in their community.
Dave’s writing is thoughtful and uncliche. His music is a blend of bluegrass and folk. Lyrics in his songs are well thought out and reflect his creative songwriting talent. There are no forced rhymes or phrases often heard before. The melodies in his songs are catchy and listeners find themselves singing along to a song they’ve never heard before.
Musically, the band plays a wide range of instruments as reflected in Dave’s album “Look to the East.” The show reflects the core of their sound and includes upright bass, guitar, and mandolin. The music is catchy and fused to lyrics that make each song an experience.
Influences include folk/indie artists like Andrew Peterson, Derek Webb and Andrew Osenga, as well as Steven Delopoulos and national stars like Nickel Creek.
