Perform at the Market

SonicBids The Chattanooga Market is now reviewing EPKs for the 2010 season, for both the Sunday Market @ First Tennessee Pavilion and the Thursday Market @ Miller Plaza.  Bands are strongly recommended to consider the Thursday Market, as the venue is better equipped & designed for live music;  acoustic shows are more satisfying at the Sunday Market.

We encourage you to either submit an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) via SonicBids or by email; we tend to lose CDs at an alarming rate, and never can locate the contact information for the bands we do like unless it’s in an email format.

If you are a professional musician interested in performing on a Thursday or Sunday afternoon, we would like to hear from you!

The Chattanooga Market…

  • is a Sunday-afternoon, family friendly event; appropriate lyrics and presentation style are important.
  • held late April through early December
  • accepts all styles/genres of musical performances from around the globe
  • provides professional sound equipment & a technician for your performance on the EPB Stage
  • has a constant audience turnover throughout the day, so two short performances will often reach an 80% renewed audience!
  • has plenty of parking for your trailer, van, or bus!

The Thursday Market & Music Plaza Party is…

  • is a Thursday-evening, after-work friendly event; appropriate lyrics and presentation style are important.
  • held from May through October
  • accepts all styles/genres of musical performances from around the globe
  • provides professional sound equipment & a technician for your performance at Miller Plaza
  • is a new market & music series, and expected to grow considerably over the next season
  • has limited parking, but excellent dressing rooms, sound & lighting.

Compensation

  • The Chattanooga Market is a non-profit organization, and has a limited entertainment budget.
  • You will be paid a flat gratuity of $150 for a one-hour set.
  • You will retain 100% of merchandise sales, and be provided booth space near the stage

Scheduling

Because of our limited entertainment budget, we try to work within your existing tour schedule to fill that ‘open Sunday afternoon’ within your longer string of dates. If you will be routing through the area, contact us with your target dates and we will attempt to fit into your tour schedule. We know it’s tough on the road!

Promotion

We will promote your upcoming performance on our website, on JamBase, on our weekly newsletter and to our local media organizations who often are interested in the talent visiting each week.

If you have a website, we will link to your official site on our online directory of performers.

Submissions

We prefer that submissions be sent using an online EPK, such as SonicBids or (if you must) MySpace; we can find them better, they cost less to send and our desks stay cleaner!

Send your EPK to booking at chattanoogamarket dot org, or http://www.sonicbids.com/chattanoogamarket2010

When sending us an EPK, be sure to indicate which weekends you are interested in touring at the market – we can’t confirm availability if you don’t let us know when you are headed this way!
